Our Curriculum
ORCA emphasizes a strong academic tradition, using classical texts and an interrelated approach to learning. Our reading program includes selections in history, science, geography, and great literature that will introduce your children to their rich heritage.
ORCA concerns itself with the development of the whole child. Children are taught in small groups within the classroom. Children are challenged and there is continuity from grade to grade. Our Christian-based curriculum awakens students to ethical and social values. A cultural program is included, giving pupils experience in art, music, and the French language.

Traditional Values:
Respect - Respect for oneself as well as for others is an ORCA standard. Inappropriate conduct is not allowed.
Reason – Reason gives understanding, and understanding provides the key to continual growth. The curriculums used at ORCA encourage thinking. A child remembers what he understands.
Responsibility – ORCA students learn to be accountable for their actions, and to make wise choices. They learn courtesy for others, patriotism for their country and honor for their families and God.
Joy of Learning - The objective of any school should be to teach children to enjoy learning. In large classrooms, children sometimes feel frustrated and ignored. At ORCA, class sizes are small and teaching resembles tutoring. Children receive individual attention and are allowed to learn at their own rate. Frequent parent/teacher conferences assure full parental involvement.
